ann nisbet was
born on the 7th of march 1979, and grow up on the west coast
of scotland. After finishing secondary school, she moved to
glasgow and completed an hnc in product design, before attending
the architecture school at strathclyde university.
in 2001 she moved
to canada and worked in an architecture practice in toronto,
returning in 2002 to architecture school. she graduated in 2004
with a masters in architecture.
shortly after
graduating ann, along with artist/architect kate hendry, was
awarded funding, to curate and tour a national exhibition of
theirwork, around scotland. the touring exhibition set
out to challenge, what is commonly perceived as an art exhibition.
during the tour ann drove a little white van around scotland
exhibiting in peculiar places such as on a beach, in a shed,
and in a living room,
the tour consisted of more than seven exhibitions and ran from
august 2005 to march 2006.
since then ann
has received funding from the scottish art council for a series
of site specific pieces of work, she has exhibited in melbourne
australia, and has had several pieces of work published in magazines.
